Everything you need to know about Chakras

 Chakra means Wheel in Sanskrit.

The body has spinning energy centers that look like spinning wheels and are called, Chakras.

As with all things in our reality, they are linked to sound, light and color.  To heal, is to bring the chakras into alignment and balance, then to understand the nature of creation and your purpose in it.

Numerous books have been written on the subject of the chakras – the body's “ energy generator system”. In order to understand Reiki's potential as a facilitator for personal/spiritual growth, a minimal understanding of these energy centers is helpful. When researching the Chakras you will  find that depending on whether you are following Tibetan Buddhism or Hinduism or that of the Seven Seals of Revelations that definitions of the chakras very a little.  For teaching to the masses I have put together the best of all the information gathered to give the best insight for all to benefit from. This is a constant work in progress so make many visits back to learn more as I pull together more information.

Our physical body consists of  various levels of vibratory rates of energy. Within our tangible physical body there exist numerous energy centers of yet higher frequencies than those previously acknowledged by science. There are supposedly over three hundred of these energy centers in the body.  However, the focus of this page will be on the seven major chakras and the hand chakras.

After a babies conception, the earliest stages of embryological development focuses on the cerebrospinal system. It is through this system that the body receives its life force. The seven major chakras are high frequency energy centers situated in close proximity to the cerebrospinal system. These energy centers may be compared to the energy generators of the developing organism or the `blueprint'.

As centers of transformation, the chakras bring down subtle energies and help transform them into nerve, cellular and hormonal energy within the  body. The subtle “pathways” which assist this transfer between psychological and physical energy are called nadis.

The physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the body work together and are interconnected.  Therefore, it is important to remember that any disorder at the physiological level will always be, to some extent, reflected at the subtler levels.

The seven major chakras have many congruity of parts with one another and with the whole. The concordance of primary importance is that of the endocrine glands. The endocrine system affects the supply of hormonal secretions into the blood stream. These secretions determine growth rate, sexual development and physiological activities. The chakras also have corresponding organs, qualities or emotions, colors and elements.

Here's a quick summary of the 7 Chakras:

1. Root Chakra - Represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded.
Location: Base of spine in tailbone area.

1 - Get an image of the chakra system so you can see where the chakras are located on the body.

2 - Lay down on your back. Have your friend (or do this for yourself) hold a pendulum (or locket or a necklace) about an inch above where the chakra is located. You will know that you have located the chakra because you will see the pendulum or pendant move in a circular pattern. (the more in touch with energy you become, the easier this process will be).

Now - how to tell if your chakra is in balance or out of balance. An out of balance chakra will spin counter-clockwise. A chakra that is in balance will spin clockwise. This is one way.  I ask myself yes and no questions first to see how my pendulum reacts.  I ask if the  open.  If I get a matching response to my yes.  It is open.  If I get a matching response to my no, it is closed.  If it just spins or stands still it is blocked.  The person you are doing the reading on can block energy if they are holding their breath.  Ask them to breath.  Many people in my experience block their heart chakra to protect themself.  It is open when they breath.

Also, note that your chakras are dynamic. A thought about something that is troubling you could cause chakras to spin backwards.

First - Base -  Root-
The I Want Chakra *
Muladhara * First Seal

The first Chakra is known by the many names listed above and is the center of physical energy and vitality, the energy to succeed in business or material possessions, and the center of manifestations.

The Base or Root chakra is located at the very bottom of the spine and governs issues around physical self-preservation.  These issues include survival, security, and safety, as well as primal and erotic sexual urges.

This chakra is the grounding force which allows is to connect to the earth energies and empower our being. Every other chakra is downstream from this one and only receives the energy that the root chakra can pass through them.  The path to health and mystical power goes directly through the gender organs.  To understand your Root chakra, you must come to a place of peace with your sexual energy.   Throughout the ancient world in historical and mythological stories, the Root chakra has been associated with dragons and snakes.  The dragons is a symbol for the kundalini fire energy.

Word in Lord’s prayer: Bread- The food or energy we need

This is the home of the primary 8 cells that have all of the knowledge of creation and remain the only cells in your body that do not change in your lifetime. It grounds us in the physical world.  This chakra is associated with the kidneys, ovaries the teste, the gonads  and the adrenal glands. The associated element is earth. The emotion or “quality” associated with this chakra is the emotion of fear, our animalistic demon .

At this stage it is important to understand that the chakras are seats of consciousness through which we express ourselves. Perhaps we should say, ideally we express ourselves through them, but in most cases we consciously or unconsciously limit expression to but a couple of these centers.

During the first seven years of development, ideally, we express ourselves through this seat of consciousness. We are mainly interested in being fed, nurtured, having our diapers changed and basically surviving. For this reason the base chakra is also often referred to as the survival chakra. The “I want chakra.”  We have all heard children from the time they can cry to about age 7 scream they want something.

As adults, if we continue to healthily express ourselves through this seat of consciousness, we are well grounded people. We are highly motivated because the emotion of fear activates the “flight or fight” response when necessary and gives us our get-up-and-go. We have a good sense of our personal place in relation to the material world and feel somewhat secure within it.

Limited expression through the base chakra is often shows in insecurity when relating to the material world. This may result in violent or extremely greedy behavior. The person will feel generally “ungrounded” and at odds with his/her environment.  Others may feel simply detached from it.

When energy is not flowing freely: from this chakra you might find yourself suffering froms intestinal and stomach gases, constipation, tumors, boils and pimples. The root chakra is responsible for your sense of safety, belonging, and security in the world. The root chakra’s main concern is survival of the self. The health of our blood, immune system, bones, joints and spine are very dependent on the emotions associated with this chakra. It demands the body's basic needs for safety, money, sexuality, groundedness and boundaries. People who have trouble with their first chakra may not have yet discovered their life purpose and developed a strong identity. If they carry with them  too much yin they may be ungrounded. If they are too yang there might an attachment to material things, self-indulgence and a their own needs will become a  preoccupation .

Excessive energy: This energy is egotistical, domineering, selfish and greedy.  The root chakras sexual energy will be entirely genital.  Judgment and biased opinions come from here.

Deficient energy: This energy exhibits a lack of confidence, shows an inability to achieve goals, often brings suicidal feelings and a sense of feeling unlovable.  Having deficient energy in the root lowers interest in sex.  Fear and insecurity also flow from here, anxiety at it finest.  Blockage in this energy center can result in a sense of unworthiness, self-doubt, or shame.  Thought patterns such as “I don’t deserve love”, “I’m ashamed of who I am”, or “I’m always misunderstood” are common in people with a blocked Root chakra.  These people try to compensate for these feelings by acquiring, keeping, and controlling material possessions, and by becoming addicted to material things.  The ultimate Root chakra failure is suicide.

Balanced energy: This energy is centered and grounded.  You feel healthy, fully alive, have unlimited physical energy, and can manifest abundance with ease.  This healthy energy takes good care of the body.  People with open Root chakras love their lives and the physical incarnation of their present bodies.

Mental and Emotional Issues: The Root’s energy is associated with survival, self esteem, social order, security, family.

Illness: Illnesses that are associated with Root chakra failure include drug addiction, anemia, cancer, arthritis, heart disease, gynecological problems, herpes, candida, AIDS and other immune deficiency, lower back pain, and constipation.  There can also be physical problems with the coccyx, anus, and/ or genitals.

Physical Dysfunctions: This energy can cause lower back pain, sciatica, varicose veins, rectal tumors, depression, and immune related disorders.

Area of Body Governed, Glands/Organs:  Spinal column, feet, rectum, immune system, adrenals, kidneys, colon, legs, bones

Root Chakra Exercises: This chakra is truly fed by getting involved in life. If you are not comfortable with the family you were born to, then adopt new families of friends, animals, organizations, support groups, etc. to balance this chakra and make it stronger. Look for evidence that your world is secure.  You can chakracise your root chakra by stomping your feet upon the ground, marching, dancing, playing golf, and doing squats.

Tantra: When the energies or vibrations from two people’s chakras are mixed, the following takes place: The light from the one chakra affects the light from the other, and these light waves are mixed in a way, so that they create different figures.  The figures created by the light waves from the chakras become more beautiful, the more love there is between the parties.

Kundalini Awakening:According to Wikipedia “Kundalini is described as a sleeping, dormant potential force in the human organism.[6] It is one of the components of an esoteric description of man's 'subtle body', which consists of nadis (energy channels), chakras (psychic centres), prana (subtle energy), and bindu (drops of essence).

Kundalini is described[who?] as being coiled up at the base of the spine, usually within muladhara chakra. The image given[who?] is that of a serpent coiled three and a half times around a smokey grey lingam. Each coil is said[who?] to represent one of the three gunas, with the half coil signifying transcendence.

Through meditation, and various esoteric practices, such as kundalini yoga, laya-yoga,[7] and kriya yoga, Reiki,  the kundalini is awakened, and can rise up through the central nadi, called sushumna, that rises up inside or alongside the spine. The progress of kundalini through the different chakras leads to different levels of awakening and mystical experience, until the kundalini finally reaches the top of the head, Sahasrara chakra, producing an extremely profound mystical experience”

Physical effects are believed to be a sign of kundalini awakening by some,[18] but described as unwanted side effects pointing to a problem rather than progress by others.[17] The following are either common signs of an awakened kundalini or symptoms of a problem associated with an awakening kundalini:

  • Involuntary jerks, tremors, shaking, itching, tingling, and crawling sensations, especially in the arms and legs
  • Energy rushes or feelings of electricity circulating the body
  • Intense heat (sweating) or cold, especially as energy is experienced passing through the chakras
  • Spontaneous pranayama, asanas, mudras and bandhas
  • Visions or sounds at times associated with a particular chakra
  • Diminished sexual desire or a state of constant orgasm
  • Emotional purgings in which particular emotions become dominant for short periods of time.[19]
  • Pressure inside the skull and headache
  • Bliss, feelings of infinite love and universal connectedness, transcendent awareness

A personal experience was described by Brian Van de Horst: he felt an activity at the base of his spine starting to flow so he relaxed and allowed it to happen. A feeling of surging energy began traveling up his back, at each chakra he felt an orgasmic electric feeling like every nerve trunk on his spine beginning to fire. D. R. Butler describes a similar experience accompanied by a wave of euphoria and happiness softly permeating his being. He described the surging energy as being like electricity but hot, traveling from the base of his spine to the top of his head. He also reported that the more he analyzed the experience, the less it occurred.[20]"

Second- Sexual -Sacral- the I desire chakra * svadhisthana *
Second Seal

The second chakra is about friendliness, creativity, sexuality, emotions and intuition on the gut level. It's influenced by how emotions were expressed or repressed during childhood. The sexual center for women.

This chakra is located just beneath the navel, and related to our sexual and reproductive capacity. Blockages manifests as emotional problems or sexual guilt.

From just about the seventh year of life until the age of about fourteen, we begin to discover our sensual/sexual body. A new awareness of our physical body and our individuality develops. It is at this time that our imagination and creativity starts to evolve.  We become aware of the joy these things bring.

Second- Sexual -Sacral-  the I desire chakra * svadhisthana* Second Seal

Color: Orange, Day of the Week: Tuesday
Tone: O, Note: d
Element: Water, Planet: Neptune
Sense: Taste, Demon /emotion: guilt, sexual guilt
Church: Symran-offspring of David- making of children
Beast :Man
Word in lord’s prayer- Temptation-  all temptations spark  desire.

Spiritual Lesson - creativity, manifestation. honoring relationships, learning to
             "let go"
Information Stored Inside Sacral Chakra
- duality, magnetism, controlling patterns, emotional feelings (joy, anger, fear).

This particular chakra is linked to the yin aspect of the kidneys, the ovaries in women, and the testes and prostate in men  It has connection to the cells of leydi and the hormones.. It is related to the element of water ( the essence of life) and has much to do with the flowing fluids of the body such as blood, urine, lymph etc.

A person who is well centered in this chakra is a person with healthy body awareness and high self love and esteem. The person will express his/her individuality living creatively. He/she will have a healthy regard and relationship with his or her sexuality and its expression. This person will be deeply in touch with all aspects of joy.

With a healthy perspective of one self, one does not just manifest healthy thoughts of their sensual self, but will also use this positive energy  to deal with all emotions, desires and the ability to create the world they want.    Someone with this chakra in check will be able to cultivate a drama reduced well balanced environment for themselves and their families.  It is where manifesting your desires starts. This is also the home and seat of your inner child with your god given original life essence(energy).  Without being able to use your original energy and convince your inner child that your desire is worth while, you will be stuck unable to manifest your desires.  It is here that you must believe you are worthy.

The sexual chakra being of original energy is also a person best tool in healing themselves.   With a little training and breathing we are able to take this energy upward to our other chakras to help heal them and help us to connect with our higher power.  As below, so above. Without a healthy sexual chakra it is harder for us to live even a healthy life with our higher power. It is here that we start to build our beliefs of ourselves known as emotions.

Unfortunately only about 50% of us express ourselves healthily through this seat of consciousness.  At about the time children enter school or even earlier on as we enter this period associated with the development of expression through the sexual chakra, we were told “cover yourself up, you are not little anymore!”  It is here that we learn shame of our bodies, just as Adam and Eve were taught in the bible.  Honestly, do you really believe that god intended us to hide or mask our perfection of his likeness.

We are told “don't touch yourself or you will go blind or grow hairy palms,”  Young women learned about “the curse”as it was once called. Only recently are children taught about their sexuality in public schools. However, due to varying religious beliefs, very seldom do they teach children healthy views of sexuality and other ways to deal with the increasing energy building in their sexual chakra.  Many are told it is sinful to desire sex at this age and are forced out of guilt to hold this energy in or be condemned as a sinner.   Since about 1960, more of our young have decided not to feel guilt and live more freely.  Could it be generations swinging once again in our views.  Still the whisper of sin lingers deep with in the mind.

Incest, child-beating, touch-starvation  and complications due to long term infectious STDs are sad facts in many people's lives. If we receive negative programming about our physical/sensual body, we learn quickly to close down sensitivity to it. We cease expressing ourselves through this chakra because it is “unacceptable” to general view society and  very painful to us. If we do close down this chakra, we may suffer from an inability to experience sexual pleasure or to express ourselves sensually and creatively. Invariably feelings of inadequacy at this level are reflected in possessive, jealous personalities.

Ovarian cysts/tumors, breast problems (they being linked to the reproductive system), sterility, impotency, pre-menstrual syndrome, obsessive/compulsive sexual behavior, etc. may all be signs that on some level we have chosen to cease healthy expression through the sexual chakra.

Lack of self-expression at this level is the basis for the majority of our dis-ease processes in life. If we reject our physical, we reject self. Self rejection depletes the immune system. Rejection of our sensuality/sexuality causes depression of our life-force energy. We stay out of touch with our innate capacity for joy or limit it dramatically.

When energy is not flowing freely from this chakra: you are lacking in creative drive and negotiation skills. This chakra is primarily associated with creativity and sexuality. This is a power vs. vulnerability chakra. It is about optimism, self-confidence, enthusiasm and courage. It involves money and power, who rules your relationship, boundaries and submissiveness. Frozen creativity causes fibroids. Lack of boundaries causes cervical dysplasia. If your second chakra is strong you have no problem saying no. When this chakra is weak you are susceptible to lower back pain and prostate problems, pernicious anemia and skin trouble. Men in their 40's and 50's sometimes struggle with their identity, creativity and potency (testapause). If there is too much yin there may be sexual problems. The abdominal area may be flabby, saggy or generally weak and may also be associated with kidney or bladder weaknesses. Too much yang will present as sexuality dominating the person's life, sexual frustration and excessive fantasizing. There may be excessive tightness in the abdominal area leading to low back problems.

Area of Body Governed: stomach, upper intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidney, pancreas, adrenal glands, spleen, middle spine, skin, mammary glands. Sexual organs: Ovaries, testicles, prostrate, spleen

Physical Dysfunctions: low back pain, sciatica, ob/gyn problems, pelvic pain, libido, urinary problems.

Mental and Emotional Issues: blame, guilt, money, sex, power, control, creativity, morality.

Illness: Kidney weakness, constipation, muscle cramps, lack of energy, allergies,
repression and inhibition. Loss of weight

Balanced energy: Friendly, concerned for others, sense of belonging, intuitive, clairsentient. Good sense of humor. Radiate warmth and compassion

Excessive energy: Emotionally explosive, overly ambitious, manipulative, caught up in illusions, overindulgent, sexual energy see people as sex objects.

Deficient energy: Shy, timid, immobilized by fear, overly sensitive, self negating, burdened by guilt, sexual energy-clinging, guilty about having sex, abused, frigid or impotent.

Musical instruments/tones feeding the spleen chakra: The keynote D, Electric guitar, Marimbas, Saxophone.

Viewing or wearing the color: orange strengthens this chakra.

Sacral Chakra Exercises:This chakra is fed by developing support systems and boundaries. Taking responsibility for what is happening in your life and "owning" up to your downfalls. Feeding your creative side and taking care of your body.  Chakracise your sacral chakra with pelvic thrusts and circular pelvis movements

 Feeding Your Sacral Center:

Nourishing the Sexual/Creativity Center

Sweet fruits: melons, mangos, strawberries, passion fruit, oranges, coconut, etc.

Nuts: almonds, walnuts, etc.

Spices: cinnamon, vanilla, carob, sweet paprika, sesame seeds, caraway seeds

Helpful Gems/Minerals: , Bloodstone, Carnelian, Citrine, Coral (Orange), Danburite (all chakras), Diamond (all chakras), Garnet (Orange and Red), Moonstone, Gold, Opal, Pearl, Peridot, Quartz, Clear (all chakras), Quartz (Smoky and Rutilated), Ruby, Selenite, Tiger eye, Wulfenite, Zircon (all chakras)

Helpful Scents:The essential oils most helpful for improving the emotions and organs associated with this 2nd chakra are Jasmine, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, and Sandalwood.

 To balance this chakra:
Express your creativity, dance, move your hips, laugh and have some fun. Play golf.

Tantra -When two people make love, then the lights from their sex chakras are mixed, and the light are creating figures, whose beauty also in this case depends on the love between the parties.
Two people, who really love each other, create a fantastic aura around them when making love - it can be compared to a forest of fairytale trees, whose flowers and leaves create an arc above the lovers, which has so powerful vibrations, that a lot of negative karma can be burned away.
In other words, just by loving another person and showing it by sexual behavior which pleases and satisfies, one can develop very much personally and in the end thereby also spiritually

Third- Solar Plexus-
I want happiness Chakra

The home of Qi, Ki, or Chi

Location: Between belly button and bottom center of rib cage.  Seat of emotions. Gives us a sense of personal power
in the world. Blockage manifests as anger or a sense of victimization.

By the time we reach about fourteen years of age, we reach the stage where we begin to develop our own sense of personal power (in the positive sense of the word) and ability to manifest our dreams. we have moved our original energy upward and outward to assist us.

Because most of us struggled uncomfortably with the first two chakras, by the time we are at this stage our sense of personal power is often distorted, limited or non-existent.  However, it is never to late to work this chakra to your benefit.

The solar plexus chakra is associated with the stomach (digestion), spleen (transformation and purification of blood), pancreas (secretes digestive juice, pancreatin, and insulin), liver (produces bile and converts carbohydrates into energy/glucogens), and the gall bladder (stores bile). These are our organs of digestion and assimilation, not just of food, but of emotions that filter their way up from the sacral.

In a healthy organism, when the body has finished the process of digesting and assimilating food, it continues with an organic process of emotional synthesis. We are under the misconception that the rumbling of the tummy means we need food. Tummy rumbles are a sign of peristalsis (muscular contractions of the alimentary and intestinal canals) that affects expulsion of waste. Peristalsis often denotes synthesis at the emotional level.

We all have had times when we are upset and either gorge or starve ourselves as a coping mechanism. What we are actually doing is halting the body's natural emotional synthesizing process. We get “the runs” in sympathy with the bottom falling out of our lives, or we suffer from constipation, reflecting our insecurity and need to cling to the old and familiar, however uncomfortable that may be.

This chakra is related to the emotion of anger. As few of us are in touch with our own personal power, anger is usually in excess (whether expressed outwardly, stifled or even projected onto a “nagging” partner). By the time we reach the solar plexus chakra most of us are candidates for stomach ulcers, liver cancer, hypoglycemia, digestive problems, or a combination thereof.

If we are healthily centered and expressing ourselves through this chakra, we have a high self esteem and natural ability to manifest abundance on all levels.  Here we begin to develop a healthy relationship with self which is reflected in our interaction with our environment.

Those of us who struggle at the level of the third chakra may have distorted, overblown egos to mask our inner insecurities about our role in relationship to the outer world. Another method for dealing with our inability to express through this seat of consciousness is to introvert. We keep everything bottled up like a time bomb and probably live in a hostile environment which is merely mirroring our own psyche's turmoil.

The element associated with the solar plexus chakra is fire. Fire is the element of transformation. Leave it unattended and it can become harmful and burn out of control (excess/violent) or simply go out (deficient/unmotivated).

Forth- Heart- I want to give & receive love Chakra - Anahata

Location Center of chest
Blockage can manifest as immune
system or heart problems, or a lack of compassion.

As the quality of the heart chakra is self love, it is the chakra through which many of us have a great deal of trouble expressing ourselves.

The heart chakra is considered the seat of balance in the body. It is associated not only with the heart, but also the lungs and thymus (immune system). The associated element is air.

The heart chakra anchors the life force - our breathing. It is our breathing that effects movement of the rib cage and consequent massaging of our vital organs beneath it. This massaging action directly affects how well, or how poorly, our digestion and assimilation processes work.

So, what do we do? When we are upset we have great ways of avoiding synthesizing our emotions. We chain smoke, which is a wonderful way to diminish the efficacy of the lungs and an effective way of stifling emotions. Another method is to hold our breath or breathe shallowly. We are all pretty expert in the art of how not to breathe. In fact, considering that it is this very process that keeps us alive, it is amazing how many of us have never learned to do it properly.

Those of us in the above category are classic candidates for lung cancer, pneumonia, (water/tears in the lungs), heart disease etc.

In the military, men were trained in “correct” posture - head up, shoulders back. An excellent way of armoring the heart center to avoid having to feel emotions when entering the battle field. Unfortunately many of us were trained this way at home and in school too. Breast implants are another good way of armoring the heart center and very effective in blocking energy flow in the body. Most of us are actually experts in avoiding expression through this center.

The physiological effect of true laughter and smiling on the thymus is to strengthen it. Just being in touch with our joy will strengthen the immune system. The connection between a healthy immune system and self-love is undeniable. When we look at the number of immune system disorders in our society today, it is indicative of the underdeveloped heart chakra most of us have.

You know what it feels like to fall in love? Suddenly everything seems to go right, you feel better about yourself and can express yourself to this person like you never have to anyone else. Even your health problems seem to diminish! When we are with that someone special we feel more creative, more intelligent, more beautiful.

We spend a lot of time dreaming of falling in love and trying to find someone to fall in love with. We may be in love with that person's creative talent, intellect, ability to interact, or beauty. Whatever draws us to another person (consciously or unconsciously) is usually an aspect of ourselves we see reflected in that person. When we are with him or her our heart chakra expands, and becomes more dynamic. As a result, we allow ourselves to observe the special within us.

At first the feelings are of bliss and joy because we are seeing ourselves through the beloved's eyes and self-love is possible. Sadly, most of us are so used to giving away our power (under-functioning solar plexus chakra) that we continue to project what is special about us onto our beloved and refuse to own it as that which is special about us. As a result we become disillusioned with him/her and “fall” out of love.

The reason our ability to love is conditional is that we are requiring the other person to make us special. How can we possibly think we are being honest when we say “I love you” to someone if we do not even know how to love ourselves? What we are really saying is “I love you...because you make me feel a certain way”: “you are in total control of my emotions”. We are giving away our power and putting tremendous pressure on our partners to be custodians of our emotional stability, thereby setting ourselves up for disappointment (a misnomer frequently used instead of the word anger).

Those of us who have decided to be “selfless” and work and slave to make our family happy or save the world could be misguided. Probably, the best thing we can do for the world is to begin by expressing ourselves through our heart chakra i.e. loving self. If we, as the microcosm, have internal battles with self going on, how can we possibly expect the macrocosm to reflect peace and unity? We are hypocritical if we profess to be devoting our lives to “fixing” the world if we aren't also working to heal our relationship with ourselves.

Ideally, if we are healthily expressing through the heart chakra and have a good relationship with self, then the possibility that the rest of our chakras are dynamic and healthy is increased. The heart being considered the seat of balance in the body makes self love the key to a healthy chakra system.

If you love yourself and then fall in love with someone else, the chances for a healthy enduring relationship are high. The new expansion to your heart chakra will allow the energy to flow more dynamically out to the other chakras. We “fall in love” and take the energy down to our solar plexus chakra and synthesize it. Ideally we then take it down to our sexual chakra and express ourselves sensually/sexually to our beloved. We then allow the energy to flow to our base chakra and seek to put down roots (earth element) together, marry, have babies, a white picket fence, etc.

Our inner attitudes about self are often reflected in the kinds of people we draw into our lives. We have but to look around us to see what we really want. It is reflected in what we already have. If we shake our heads and say “no way, this is the furthest thing from what I want,” be sure that some part of you believes this is what you deserve and need right now. If we look at our reality from this perspective, it adds incentive to develop a loving relationship with oneself.

Fifth -Throat - I want to speak clearly Chakra - Visuddha

Location: Center of Throat:
Tied to creativity and communication. Feels pressure
when you are not communicating your emotions properly.

The throat chakra is associated with the thyroid gland (secretes thyroxin which regulates metabolic rate thus influencing growth and development); the parathyroid gland (produces hormones regulating metabolism of calcium and phosphorous), and the hypothalamus (regulates body temperature). [This gland is sometimes associated with the brow chakra.]

On a physiological level, an imbalance in our expression through the throat chakra will be reflected in under- functioning of the above organs and glands. This may result in hypothyroidism, characterized by a sluggish metabolism and weight problems. The contrary may otherwise be the case, which is hyperthyroidism.

Imbalance at this level may show itself in an inability to express oneself verbally or to communicate well. If we have difficulty bringing our deep inner-knowing, thoughts and emotions together in verbal expression, it may be a sign that we need to give more focus to this chakra.

Poets, orators, and singers make up some of the realm of creative people centered in this chakra. There is no gross element associated with this chakra, but rather the amalgamation of the first four chakras becomes sound.

A person truly centered in this chakra will voice not intellectually or emotionally programmed belief systems, but speak from a place of knowing and deep inner truth.

Sixth-Third eye -Brow-
I want to see clearly  Chakra *Ajna *
Seventh Seal

Christ consciousness center

The third eye is the center of psychic powers and higher intuition, you can receive guidance, channeling, and tune into your higher self.  This is the center that enables you to experience telepathy, astral travel and past lives.
Psychic seat of the soul.
Is a meta- physical eye with the capabilities of looking upward. It is from the sixth chakra that we project our inner dreams outward and manifest them on the physical level. Here is our seat of intuition, insight, and creativity. Here we begin to ask questions of the Spirit, questioning our existence and interrelationship with the universe.

This chakra is associated with the pituitary gland, which functions rather like the orchestral conductor of all the other glands. Directly or indirectly this gland regulates the majority of basic bodily functions.

If we are “closed minded” and only focus outwardly upon the material aspects of our life, we avoid self expression through this chakra. We may suffer from eye problems (not wishing to see the truth), or severe headaches. We will only believe in that which we experience with our five senses and probably even have diminished experience through those, meaning that our lower chakras will probably be underdeveloped.

The way you perceive the world, your sense of purpose, morals, and how you think about what you see may be a little out of the normal. Life threatening diseases such as genetic problems, ALS and MS are related to this emotional center. This center also has to do with all the senses including the sixth sense. There may be challenges with being overly rational, and moral with very linear/rigid thinking and decreased receptivity to new ideas. Blockage of this chakra often manifests as a frontal headache, inability to think clearly, scattered or confused thinking.

How to know that you have awakened your third eye

The third eye is awakened if you close your eyes and can see:

  • White/blue/purple colours
  • Intense white dots
  • Black sky with numerous stars
  • The shape of the eye/square/circle/some other shape filled with blue or purple colour

These are all signs of an awakened  third eye.

Also ,if you feel the pressure or some activity in your third eye chakra, that means that your third eye just about awakened and soon you will be able to see it.

What to expect after the third eye opening

Do not be surprised that when you awaken your third eye that you will start getting unusual experiences. Especially, that has to do with your sight. When you are tired or you are about to sleep or just relax and close your eyes, you may suddenly get all kinds of images in your mind’s eye.  This happens to me nightly.

A lot of them will not make any sense to you.  Many of them will be very vivid, while others will be blurred. There are many dimensions out there and with your awakened third eye, you will be able to pick up on them. The higher vibration you offer, the higher developed worlds you will be able to explore.

Higher vs Lower Dimensions

If you offer a low vibration often known as negativity, you may get to see the dimensions where restless souls stay, the souls of people who committed suicides or could not forgive themselves for having done that. They are afraid to be judged by someone, so they stay between our world and higher dimensions. This, of course, is not the best dimension to  to see, but if you find yourself viewing such a dimension, you need understand that you offering a vibration that attracts such visions.  Seeing lower dimensions, might make one scared and start regretting your third eye opening.

If you offer a very high vibration (that of peace, love, gratitude and happiness), you will be able to see more refined worlds.  You will know that you picked up on this dimension if you see very vivid light colors and when the air seems to be full of golden light. The golden/white colors will be the main ones in these dimensions.

If you get information overload, and you may not be able to tune out of these dimensions, they will keep shifting through your eyes, sometimes really fast, different images may pass through you every second. Because you are new to this experience, you may not know how to switch off the third eye sight. Do not let scare you.  Just focus on this world.  Ground yourself.  See Root chakra

Sensitivity to energies

After your third eye has awakened, you will become more sensitive to the energies of other people. You will be able to pick up on both good and bad energies. It is beneficial to focus  on  the good energies that others are offering, because they affect you positively.

However, unfortunately, you will pick up on their bad energies too. For example if some person is angry and she looks at you, you will get some of her anger. That is why many spiritual people sometimes get drained after spending some time in a crowded area. There are  way too many bad energies out there, and when you become more spiritual, you become more sensitive to all these energies.

There are a few things you can do to reduce the harm of such energies. You can use some protection when you feel that you are around negative people. Such protection can be imagining that you are surrounded by white or golden (or both) light  or a protective bubble and imagining how their negative energy cannot get through that barrier. This is a very very useful technique which I personally use. That always saves me from getting drained off my energy.

Other third eye opening experiences

After your third eye opening you may get very strong vibrations in your body that may really scare you. It still freaks me occasionally when it happens. I had no idea what is happening to me.

However, if you stay calm and just let the vibration overtake you, it will pass. During this vibration you may be able to see your third eye or (if you still did not awaken it) this experience may open your third eye.  This is usually a sign that you are going to get a vision or a glimpse only into very developed dimensions.

I hope that I did not discourage you from the third eye opening. Although the experiences that you will get after your third eye awakening are quite different from what you experience in this physical world, if you keep your vibration high you will not see anything of negative nature.

Therefore you should stay as positive as you can every day and if you do that you will definitely enjoy the sights that you get from your third eye.

Also, please remember that not everyone understands a third eye awakening. If you go share your experiences with everyone, they might think you are crazy and lock you up. You will need to find a spiritual councilor to talk to if you need to talk about any weird experiences.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the color violet or white. We use the seventh chakra as a tool to communicate with our spiritual nature. “As humans reach for the spiritual energies of the Crown Chakra, we should not consider them to be the end of the story of our growth as either individuals or as a species. It is our spiritual ego speaking whenever we believe we have achieved the ultimate in development, and no longer have the issues of humankind to deal with. Yes, as we grow and change, we will deal with our human foibles and follies in new ways, but as long as we wear the body, we are still spirits in human form. Humbling, isn't it? Well, it's meant to be.... Beyond the crown, there are chakras above the head, some of which are "personal," and some of which are "transpersonal" -- even "Universal." The chakra immediately above the crown (it does not have a physical body location) I often find it to be about 6-8" above the top of the cranium in people who are accessing and using this chakra.
